Figure 01
Today the Human Resource Management (HRM) considered as an important and heart of the management process in most organisations. The overall performance of the organisation depends on the quality of HRM and is so sensitive among all the performance indicators. The performance of HRM  and success behaviors of it ensures the growth and fortune of the organisation.

In this section, the attempt is to explain the definition of HRM using various views.

As mentioned by Bratton and Gold (2003) the term “Human Resource Management” has been the subject of considerable debate, and its underlying philosophy and characters are highly controversial. Much of this controversy stems from the absence of a precise formulation of agreement on its significance and definition.

The definition of HRM concept is elaborated from different angles. More or less, the various definitions, different concepts, types of various context and scope of HRM and its associated processes are explained by different ways as under,

Armstrong (2012) remarked that 'Human resource management is defined as a strategic and coherent approach to the management of an organization’s most valued assets – the people working there who individually and collectively contribute to the achievement of its objectives.'

Gary et al (1999) defined HRM as the management of people in organisations. It consists of the activities, policies, and practices involved in obtaining, developing, utilizing, evaluating, maintaining, and retaining the appropriate number and skill mix of employees to accomplish the organisation’s objectives.

In generic term, HRM defined as acquire knowledge, developing skills, creating abilities, improve talents and aptitude of an organisation’s workforce. Which pull forward consisting of the acquisition, development and maintenance of personnel dignity, mutual relations, satisfaction and well-being of employees. So the Human Resource Management is a comprehensive people oriented, individual oriented, development oriented, continuous future oriented and a challenging function of today's management process.
